How to Claim Your Price Match
Getting your price match at Academy Sports is a straightforward process․ Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Find the Lower Price: Identify the exact same item you want to purchase at Academy Sports being sold for less at a qualifying competitor․
- Gather Proof: Collect evidence of the lower price․ This could be a printed advertisement, a screenshot from the competitor’s website (showing the product and price), or even a flyer․ Make sure the ad is current and valid․
- Head to Academy Sports: Visit your local Academy Sports store․
- Show the Evidence: Present your proof of the lower price to a sales associate․ Be prepared to show them the complete advertisement or website page, not just a cropped image․
- Enjoy the Savings: If your request meets the requirements, the associate will adjust the price to match the competitor’s price and then deduct an additional 5%!
Important Considerations and Exclusions
While Academy’s price match policy is generous, there are a few key things to keep in mind:
- Identical Item: The item must be exactly the same – same brand, model number, size, color, etc․
- In-Stock Availability: Both Academy Sports and the competitor must have the item in stock at the time of the price match request․
- Qualifying Competitors: Academy Sports typically price matches against major retailers and local competitors․ It’s always best to confirm with the store associate which competitors are eligible․
- Exclusions: Certain items may be excluded from the price match policy, such as clearance items, closeout deals, limited-time offers, and items sold by third-party sellers․
- Online Price Matching: Confirm with your local store if they price match online retailers․ Policies can vary by location․
