Google Account Activity
Your Google Account provides a central hub for managing your data and privacy. Here’s how to access and control your search history and web & app activity:
Accessing My Activity
- Go to your Google Account.
- At the top left, click Data & privacy.
- Under History settings, click My Activity.
Browsing and Filtering Activity
Once in My Activity, you can:
- Browse your activity, organized by day and time.
- Use the search bar and filters to find specific activity.
Deleting Activity
You have several options for deleting your activity:
- Delete individual items.
- Delete activity from a certain time frame.
- Delete all activity.
Visual Search History
Google also offers a Visual Search History setting. When enabled, the images you use to search are saved to your Web & App Activity; You can turn this setting on or off:
- Go to your Google Account.
- At the top left, click Data & privacy.
- Under History settings, click Web & App Activity.
- Next to Visual Search History, check or uncheck the box.
Chrome Browsing History
Chrome, like other browsers, stores your browsing history. You can access and manage it through the browser’s settings. Your History lists the pages youve visited on Chrome in the last 90 days.
Incognito Mode
If you don’t want Chrome to save your browsing history, you can browse in Incognito mode.
Translation History
If you use Google Translate, you can find and control your translation history across the web and app. Open the Translate app and sign into your account. If theres history stored on your device, youll get a notification. To find or delete your history entries before youre prompted to sync them with your account in the cloud or delete them, tap Manage history.
By taking control of your search history and privacy settings, you can better manage your digital footprint and protect your personal information.
