Deleting a Facebook business page is a straightforward process, but it’s essential to understand the implications before you proceed. Once a page is deleted, it’s gone forever, and you won’t be able to recover it. This guide will walk you through the steps to permanently remove your Facebook business page, whether you’re using a computer or the mobile app.

Before You Delete: Considerations
Before taking the plunge, consider these important points:
- Permanence: Deletion is irreversible. All content, posts, photos, videos, and messages associated with the page will be permanently lost.
- Audience: Think about how your audience will be informed. If you’ve built a community, consider announcing the closure and providing alternative ways to connect.
- Unpublishing vs. Deleting: If you’re not ready for permanent deletion, you can choose to unpublish your page. This makes it invisible to the public but allows you to restore it later.
- Admin Access: You must be an administrator of the page to delete it.
Deleting a Facebook Business Page via Desktop
Follow these steps to delete your page using a web browser:
- Navigate to your Facebook business page.
- In the left-hand menu, click on Settings.
- Scroll down and click on General.
- Find the Remove Page section and click on Delete [Your Page Name].
- A confirmation pop-up will appear. Read the information carefully and click Delete to confirm.
- You may be asked to enter your Facebook password for verification.
Deleting a Facebook Business Page via Mobile App (Android/iPhone)
The process is similar on the Facebook mobile app:
- Open the Facebook app and navigate to your business page.
- Tap on the Manage button or the three dots (…) menu icon.
- Scroll down and tap on Settings.
- Tap on General.
- Under the “Remove Page” section, tap on Delete Page;
- Tap Delete again to confirm.
- You may need to re-enter your password.
Unpublishing Your Page (Alternative)
If you’re hesitant about permanent deletion, unpublishing is a good option.
- Follow steps 1-3 from the desktop or mobile deletion process to access the General settings of your page.
- Look for the Page Visibility option.
- Select Unpublished Page.
- Click or tap Save Changes.
Your page will no longer be visible to the public, but you can easily make it public again by following the same steps and selecting “Published Page.”
After Deletion
Once you’ve confirmed the deletion, Facebook will begin the process of permanently removing your page. This may take a few days. During this time, it’s still possible to cancel the deletion by going to your page settings and looking for an option to cancel deletion. However, after the grace period, the page will be irretrievable.
Remember to back up any important content or data from your page before initiating the deletion process.
