Nome Public Schools facing funding issues, requesting additional $315,000 in city funds to cover a deficit of over $1 million due to state and local funding reductions. The school board is scheduled to meet next week to discuss further budget adjustments.

Perry Saito and Noel Pardee competed in the Stroken Croak triathlon last Sunday. Saito finished with a time of 2:35:12, placing him 15th overall. Pardee completed the race in 3:01:48. Next up: The Nome River Raft Race is scheduled for July 20th. Registration is now open!
